Luke Vetter


Mr. Vetter is currently in his seventh year as music director at the Marquand-Zion R6 School District.  He started the band program in 2018 and it has grown tremendously under his leadership.  This is Mr. Vetter’s first year teaching at MAC and at MAFFA, although he has taught privately for many years.   

Mr. Vetter is originally from St. Louis and graduated from Mehlville High School in 2011.  After high school he studied at the University of Missouri - Columbia where he was principal tuba for the University Philharmonic, the Wind Ensemble, and performed with the Tuba Studio under the direction of Dr. Manzo.  Mr. Vetter graduated with a Bachelor’s of Science in Music Education in 2015 and with a Masters of Music in Tuba Performance in 2017.  He has performed with different groups such as the Columbia Civic Orchestra, the Missouri Symphony Orchestra, the St. Louis Philharmonic, the Alton Symphony Orchestra, the Compton Heights Concert Band, the Cape Girardeau Municipal band, the St. Genevieve Community Band, and the MAFAA Community Band.

In his free time, he loves to spend time with his beautiful wife and one year old son, Theo.  He also enjoys running his model trains and spending time outside.
