Amanda Dement

Amanda Dement is the Music Director for the Mineral Area Fine Arts Academy at Mineral Area College in Leadington, MO. Originally from Fredericktown, Amanda has many memories of a childhood filled with wonderful musical experiences and great teachers and mentors. From a young age she was immersed in a musical atmosphere from her family to her church and in her school activities. Amanda achieved many honors throughout her high school years including all state band, all state jazz band, all state choir, and drum major of the marching Blackcats for 3 years.


After high school, Amanda attended Evangel University in Springfield, MO where she studied vocal and instrumental music and graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelors in Music Education. Upon her graduation, she accepted the challenge of rebuilding a 6-12th grade band and choir program in Gainesville, MO. The program nearly tripled under her leadership and from then on, Amanda has been a builder of programs. Amanda returned to her home town in 2009, where she was the 3rd-5th grade music teacher at Fredericktown Intermediate as well as an assistant for the beginning band program. During her time at Fredericktown, she directed honor choirs, musicals and had a private lesson studio in her home. Amanda most recently served the North County Band program for 7 years as the Assistant Director of Bands. Beginning band was her primary focus as she maintained a beginning band program of 180-220 students.


She is currently very active in the music ministry at the Farmington Free Will Baptist Church where she leads children/youth music opportunities, directs VBS, teaches Sunday School and participates in the choir and band as the pianist for her husband Naman, who serves as the worship pastor. Together they have a passion to see people discover their strengths and gifts and help them grow to serve in areas they are gifted in.
