Joe Hull

Joe Hull started playing percussion at an early age. After his parents realized his natural ability to keep a steady tempo, they bought him a drum set at the age of five. Joe started taking private lessons at the age of eight where he started reading rhythms and learning basic techniques. In High School, Joe made the Missouri All State band as a timpanist in 2003 and 2004. He played in several ensembles in college, including: marching band, wind ensemble, jazz band and steel drum band. While at MWSU, Joe was asked to join the Fountain City Brass Band after playing a concert featuring the musical director of the group. With FCBB, He played at the MMEA conference, toured the Midwest, Great Britain, Scotland, won the U.S. Open, took first place at the North American Brass Band Association competition and even won a soloist award.


Mr. Hull is a well rounded percussionist with skills that cover many different instruments.


He is percussion judge for the Missouri All State band, and has judged the Mid Missouri Percussive Arts competition.


Joe holds a Music Education degree from Missouri Western State University and a Masters in Education from the University of Central Missouri.
